We are pleased to provide various anesthesia options to furnish you with the smoothest, most comfortable experience. Anesthesia and sedation help keep you from experiencing physical discomfort and prevent you from staying awake through procedures that can potentially last multiple hours. We utilize anesthesia to ensure peace of mind and help you avoid undue anxiety or jitteriness about your surgery.

Our Sedation Options

We provide sedation options in a safe, controlled environment. Some of the options we offer include the following:

Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia may be the most appropriate option for shorter or more minor procedures. For this method, we apply a topical numbing agent to the treatment area, followed by an injection. While this may involve some minor pressure, it should not cause any pain. This is a desirable anesthesia option for some patients because it results in less “grogginess” after the fact, which translates to a shorter recovery.

IV Sedation

We supply intravenous or IV sedation for procedures requiring you to be fully asleep. We use this option for more complex or time-consuming procedures, as well as for patients with a high level of anxiety about dental work.

Not all patients may be good candidates for IV Sedation.  Your surgeon may suggest obtaining a letter from your primary care physician before the procedure, as your safety and well-being are our highest priority.

Children age 8 and above can be considered for IV sedation to help with their dental anxiety.

Operating Room

There is also the option to be taken to the operating room for more medically complex patients for their safety.
