I'm Jenifer's husband Robert. I dread going to the dentist. I got a referral to see Dr. Cho. I was ridden with anxiety, but upon meeting him that all changed. I found him to be so caring and understanding and in every way made me feel comfortable that I was in his hands. I felt so fortunate to have been sent in his direction. His sincerity and dedication are exemplary and his team was attentive and very helpful and caring. I can't say enough about how special that experience turned out to be.

Dr Cho is impressive not only in surgical expertise but also in his responses to questions; the staff are also impressive. Nice, smart, and responsive.

I cannot recommend this office enough!

I had an extremely poor experience with another dental office who was supposed to extract a wisdom tooth that had been causing me severe pain for over a week. To cut a long, dramatic story short, that other office called to cancel the extraction an hour and a half before my scheduled appointment for it because they "didn't have time." I was in tears from the pain and frustration and called about 7 different offices around Asheville on a Friday looking for anyone at all who would be willing and able to do the extraction or even see me that day. Eventually I got in touch with Southern Dental Implants & Surgery, and, after telling my story, they immediately began taking care of me.

While on the phone they asked me how long it would take me to get to them, and I told them I was about 20 minutes away. The person I spoke with told me to start driving there and she would ask me questions (name, address, etc.) while I was on the way. When I got there, I was handed a tablet to do my intake information on instead of a stack of papers which immediately gave an impression that this office utilizes current tech and tries to reduce their paper waste, which I was extremely appreciative of. Once I was done with that I did not have to wait long in the lobby at all to be seen.

When I went in, I expected only a consultation and then a follow up appointment for the extraction. I want to mention that instead of doing bite-wing x-rays that are extremely uncomfortable, especially when you have a really angry tooth, they used the machine that spins around your head which I also really appreciated. After explaining what happened with the other dentist, Dr. Cho agreed to do the extraction that same day.

I did have to wait briefly while they set up the room for me, but between the time of the consultation and going back to the extraction room, this office already had my insurance billing estimate done and an after-care package ready and waiting for me. The billing was explained extremely well, both in person and on the paper estimate, which showed how much the procedure cost, how much they expected insurance to pay, and how much I was responsible for. I hate to say this, but this is a level of transparency that is missing in a ton of places who try to mystify what a person's insurance is actually doing in an effort to charge them more. The after-care package contained, among other things, two extremely attractive booklets. The first gave me instructions of what to do day by day after the extraction and what to expect. The second booklet was full of recipes of soft foods to eat after an extraction.

Once I got back to the extraction room, I was made as comfortable as possible in the chair. They kept a blood pressure cuff on my arm for continual monitoring of that, they played soft piano music to help keep me calm, and they drew blood for something called PRF which is supposed to help the extraction site heal more quickly. I want to say that this blood draw was the easiest blood draw of my life. I barely felt the needle at all. The tech that did that is *extremely* talented and should be teaching others her ways.

Dr. Cho came in, answered any questions I had about the procedure, then numbed the site for me. He then left and gave enough time for the anesthetic to begin working. This was also incredibly impressive to me, because I know from a prior wisdom tooth removal that sometimes dentists get impatient and begin the extraction too soon. Most of my time in the chair, really, was spent waiting for the numbing to completely take effect. The extraction itself took maybe 5 minutes after that, and was painless. Then, after the extraction, someone walked me to my car to make sure that I was okay to drive. Dr. Cho also texted me later and let me know that if I had any questions to just text him. He also called me the next day to check in.

In short I felt extremely well taken care of at every step of the way here. I am so thankful for this office and its team, and I would recommend it to anyone!

This is the second extraction that I have had done by Dr. Cho and he is hands down the best dentist I have ever encountered. He is thorough, fast, but still incredibly kind and gentle and cares enough to call and text me to make sure I am doing well. I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone who has ever had bad experiences with other dentists. He definitely goes the extra mile for his patients.

Dr. Cho and his staff were amazing at alleviating my fears around my implant procedure. The aftercare is top notch, with the doctor checking in on you several times during the recovery process.

This was my first experience with surgery or anesthesia and I was nervous going in. The folks here were very helpful and communicative both before and after my procedure, and put me at ease. Big thank you to Dr. Nelson and the team.
